UNDERWATER TIPS & LINKS
Tradewind's Underwater Video Filming Tips
Tradewind Communication in New Zealand has developed lot's of tips that range from as
simple as entering the water with the camera, to using lights, to dealing with the
"big deep blue" colors underwater. Worth taking a look if you are going to be
getting wet.
Under Water
with Ikelite
"We were doing so many custom installations for this
sophisticated camera that it is now available as a stock housing."
Under
Water with Sea & Sea
This thing looks so cool, people will think your James Cameron
working on Titanic II.
Under Water with
EWA-Marine
This one I've used used many times. White water rafting,
shooting a triathalon and down a water slide. It is by far the most economical of the
water housings I have seen. If you are as fascinated by shooting in water as I am, this
might be worth the investment. Around $400.00 is what I've been told.
Under Water with MK2
"Die-cast single aluminum block type-approved by the French
Navy for its exceptional robustness, reliability and ease of use." Looks
expensive.
Under Water with
Seacam DV/S-1
Another one!?! What this country needs is another good VX-1000
under water housing for around $2,500.00.
Under
Water with Light and Motion
The Sting Ray housing for the VX-1000 requires that you take the
microphone off for the camera to fit in the housing.
Under Water
with Gates
All aluminum housing for the Sony DCR-VX1000 camera.

New Photoprinter for Memory Sticks

Coming memorystick player!
Memory Stick media is an ultra-small flash storage media that is
designed to share data, text, graphics, video, audio or digital images from a camcorder
and transfer to a printer, PC, camera, display or other products in the future.
Sony announced a number of connectivity solutions to help consumers
transfer digital images from the DCR-PC100 with Memory Stick media. The new Memory Stick
PC card adapter (MSAC-PC2) transfers high resolution still images to a notebook computer
in seconds (approximately 450 KByte/s write, 880 KByte/s read speeds). The new Memory
Stick floppy disk adapter (MSAC- FD1A) facilitates easy image transfer to a desktop PC.
The supplied serial port interface (RS-232C) also connects the DCR-PC100 to a desktop PC.
Sony also announced a 64 MB capacity Memory Stick media. With an
optional 64 MB Memory Stick media and the DCR-PC100, approximately 304 mega-pixel images
can be saved or approximately 18 images with the supplied 4 MB Memory Stick media. Still
images can be captured in mega-pixel or VGA (640 x 480) resolutions in super fine, fine or
standard picture modes.
Memory Stick media is available now in 4, 8 and 16 MB capacities. The 32
and 64 MB media will be available in October and December for $109.95 and $189.95 (MSRP),
respectively. In addition, the Memory Stick PC card adapter (MSAC-PC2) will be available
in October for $79.95 (MSRP), and the Memory Stick floppy disk adapter (MSAC-FD1A) will be
available in November for $99.95 (MSRP).

Pity everyone is designing its own memory size stick! Why not all choose
a standard!)
